SKILLS ACQUIRED DURING THIS COURSE

The child is well-prepared for reading instruction, their phonemic awareness is significantly developed. They can identify the first sound in a word, correlate a spoken sound with its symbolic representation, determine the position of a sound within a word, and segment words into syllables.

OBJECTIVES

Prepare the child for reading instruction, introduce them to the sounds of the Russian language, and teach them to distinguish sounds within words.

WHAT WE DO

  • Acquaint ourselves with the world of sounds
  • Learn to distinguish various non-speech sounds by listening (water sounds, rustling foil, door creaking, and others)
  • Syllabicate words by clapping
  • Become familiar with logopedic symbols of speech sounds
  • Learn to distinguish speech sounds within words and correlate them with visual symbols
  • Learn to find the “odd one out” word
  • Add words to rhymes
  • Learn short poems
  • Listen to music and move to the music
  • Move and recite poetry
