Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Secondary (KS3, KS4 / GCSE)

KS3 (Year 7, 8 and 9; age 11 to 14) – Year 7 students are introduced into the Latin language and Roman life.

Year 8 students build upon what is learnt in Year 7 and begin to translate more complex sentences.

KS4 / GCSE (Y10 and Y11; age 14 to 16) – From Year 9, students begin to learn the prescribed list of vocabulary and literature required for GCSE. By the end of Year 10 students will have studied all the literature and vocabulary required for the GCSE. Year 11 is the culmination of the GCSE Latin courses. All the language and literature learnt is reviewed and consolidated for the GCSE.
