Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Secondary (KS3, KS4 / GCSE)

KS3 (Year 7, 8 and 9; age 11 to 14) – Classical Greek is usually taught from Year 9, however some schools might start from year 7. The first two terms are spent intensively studying Greek language and vocabulary.

KS4 / GCSE (Y10 and Y11; age 14 to 16) 

Language – Students study texts and stories in Classical Greek to build knowledge and understanding of Classical Greek vocabulary, accidence and syntax.

Prose and Verse Literature – Students read and analyse set texts by authors such as Euripides, Homer, Plutarch and Xenophon in their original language.
